75,000 points
Apply for The Platinum Card via a referral link and earn 75,000 Membership Rewards points after qualifying spend — the friend who referred you earns bonus points too.
Opens American Express's site — the reward tracks automatically via this link.
The Platinum Card is Amex's flagship premium charge card: airport lounge access, hotel status, travel credits and a welcome bonus that regularly runs into tens of thousands of Membership Rewards points once you clear the spend threshold in your first three months. The referral mechanic is worth understanding before you click through, because it's asymmetric — as the new applicant you receive exactly the same welcome offer whether you apply via a friend's link or go direct, while the person who referred you earns their own bonus points (capped at 90,000 a year across every referral they make) once your card is approved. So there's no downside to using a link if someone's offered you one, but it's not a reason by itself to apply for a card carrying a four-figure annual fee. Weigh the lounge access, travel perks and points value against the fee for your own spending pattern before committing.
